The SSA Maxi double shelving system

enables a more economical room design by making maximum use of the available space.

Better use of limited space

The double-row solution for SSA Maxi safe deposit boxes has been specially developed to optimize the use of small spaces. Not only does it allow for a smaller vault design, it also offers a weight reduction without compromising the number of available safe deposit boxes. In a standard single-row installation, a robot can only hold one safe deposit box at a time. In a double-row solution, two compartments can be removed by one robot.

How does the double-shelf system work?

When a locker is requested, the robot first moves to the relevant location and removes the first safe deposit box in the front row. At the same time, it pulls the locker from the back row to the front shelf position, as they are connected by a hook. With the help of two robot components mounted on the same set of rails, the upper robot moves upwards with the first locker so that the lower robot component can pick up the second locker from the front shelf position. The robot then transports both lockers to the dispensing unit, but only the second safe deposit box is moved into the dispenser

Savings potential

In a direct comparison, where the same number of lockers are provided but a smaller area is available, the following savings are possible:

  • Reduction of the vault area by 23%
  • Reduction of 23% in the surface area of the vault panels
  • Reduction of the weight by 10%

This not only reduces the overall costs of the project, but also has an impact on the ecological footprint. By reducing the size of the vault, which requires fewer vault panels and fewer robot units, the overall weight of the solution is reduced and logistics costs are lowered.
