Installation of an automated 24/7 customer safe deposit system in an existing bank building.
After the renovation in 2019, the bank decided to integrate an automated Gunnebo safe deposit system from the Swiss market leader Imhotec into the existing bank, due to strong demand – and this was done while the bank was still in operation.
The installation of the vault, weighing over 20 tons, without the use of mechanical aids such as cranes or forklifts, posed a real challenge. As it was a retrofit installation, the assembly team had to carefully and patiently bring each individual element into the building by hand.
The vault system, consisting of the vault room, SafeStore Auto Maxi, SafeControl Manager, and double rack technology, was installed in a compact space in the basement of the bank. Thanks to the unique double rack technology of the Gunnebo SafeStore Auto system, over 600 compartments were created on a total area slightly larger than a parking space.
Users of the 24/7 customer safe deposit systems are very satisfied with the facilities. They appreciate the round-the-clock access to their valuables.
The employees who interact with the system on a daily basis received excellent and comprehensive training before the opening.
