During the renovation of AKB’s Frick branch, it was decided early on that a Gunnebo autosafe system would be used. This is because the ability to access valuables and documents at any time is part of AKB’s range of services.

Fully automated 24-hour customer safe system in the renovated branch of the Aargauische Kantonalbank (AKB) in Frick.
Initial situation

After AKB had already successfully implemented several fully automated safe deposit box systems, it was clear that Gunnebo’s proven products would also be used in Frick and that the trusting cooperation with Imhotec would be relied upon.
The automation of safe deposit box visits enables AKB to offer maximum convenience, maximum security and absolute flexibility – without the need for on-site personnel. This means that customers can access their valuables regardless of opening hours.
Important key data
Bank below, residential above. The AKB building on Widenplatz in the center of Frick has been raised by two floors. The existing building fabric was retained up to and including the ceiling on the second floor. The two additional storeys were optimally adapted to the existing structural conditions.
The newly arranged premises of the modernized office are located on the first floor. This was remodeled according to AKB’s two-zone concept, which combines the best of the digital and physical worlds.
About the result
The project ran smoothly – also thanks to the efficient coordination between the individual construction phases.
The training on the SCM system was short, concise and yet comprehensive. The AKB employees were optimally prepared. It was particularly pleasing that the start-up phase went smoothly for the AKB team, as everyone quickly became familiar with the new processes.
